Tips and Tricks: How To Find The Right Shade of BB Cream For Your Skin Type and Color

Wednesday, March 6, 2013

A BB Cream is one of the many magical, must-have wonders a woman can (and should) possess as part of her beauty arsenal. 'BB' actual stands for 'Beauty Balm' and is aptly named because of it's unique versatility. Not only is a BB Cream a tinted moisturizer, it also protects the skin with sunscreen, smooths wrinkles, acts as a primer with antioxidants, and is a light foundation that gets rid of age spots. What doesn't a BB Cream do? Well, actually, the only thing one of these fantastic creams doesn't do is treat acne. That's it. It takes care of just about everything else you could ever want a cream to take care of.

Now that you know what a BB Cream is, how do you find the right one for you? There isn't a one type cure for everyone. You have to pick and choose, based upon your skin type and your skin coloring. Here's what we have to say on the topic. I hope that it helps.

Based On Your Skin Type

The very first thing to consider is your skin type. You definitely don't want something designed for say, dry skin, if you have oily skin. If you aren't really sure what kind of skin type you have, then try to steer clear of anything that is only good for one specific type, and instead limit your search for items that are good for all skin types. If you choose a BB Cream that isn't good for your skin, there is a very high chance that you will get a pimple outbreak. No woman wants that, so be careful when making your ultimate decision.

Here are some really great BB Cream choices that are suitable for all skin types:

● Etude House BB Magic Cream
● Hanskin Super Magic BB Cream
● Hanksin Magic BB Cream
● Lioele Beyond Solution BB Cream
● Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream
● Skin79 The Oriental Gold BB Cream
● Skinfood Aloe Sun BB Cream
● Skinfood Mushroom Multi Care BB Cream
● Skinfood Ginko Green BB Cream

If you have normal or combination skin (skin with both dry and oily areas), you might want to try out Skin79 Hot Pink Super Plus Beblesh Balm. If you have oily skin, try out Skinfood Peach Sake Pore BB Cream. If, on the other hand, you have a dry skin type, try out one of the following:

● Hanskin Caviar Gold BB Cream
● Skin79 VIP Gold Super Plus Beblesh Balm

For Skin Coloring

So now that you know which BB Creams are good for what skin types, you need to know what shade to get. This is usually fairly easy as most BB Creams only come in one or two color shades. The reason behind this is that BB Creams naturally adjust to your skins own tone, regardless of what color your skin might be. When the cream is first applied to your face, it will look very white and pasty. Once you rub it in and allow it a few moments to adjust, however, you will see that you have a gorgeous, even skin tone with a light natural glow. The big bonus is that it won't even look like you are wearing make up. It will just appear that you have perfectly near-flawless skin. How awesome is that? I told you that it was a miracle worker that is a definite must have for your beauty arsenal, didn't I?

Although you won't really find a bunch of different tones, you'll be happy to know that if you have moderately to severely uneven skin tone, there are actually some BB Creams that can help. If you want your uneven skin to appear more naturally even, take a look at these BB Creams:

● Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35
● Estee Lauder Daywear BB Multi-Perfecting Benefit Cream SPF 35
● Marcelle BB Cream

If you happen to have dull or sallow skin, there are a few BB Creams that can help with your problem as well. If you want to add an instant brightness to your skin, try using Vichy Neovadiol Lumiere.

Other Tips and Tricks For Getting The Perfect BB Cream For You

While it's mostly just a matter of finding the right BB Cream for your skin type and tone, there are a few other things you may want to keep in mind while purchasing your cream. First and foremost, you need to have a look at the ingredients. This is because some BB Creams have been known to contain ingredients that cause people with sensitive skin to have allergic reactions. These ingredients, which sensitive skin users should keep an eye out for, include marine collagen and polymer compounds. Also make sure that you read over the entire container before purchasing. Just like any other beauty cream, some offer a slightly different look than others. Some may apply shimmering or glowing effects that are more suitable for a night out on the town than for day to day use. Just read over your BB Cream thoroughly and you shouldn't have any problem. My all time favorite is the Skin79 the pink label. I have tried a few of the drugstore brands, but I haven't like them as much. It seems like they are just repacking their tinted moisturizers and renaming them BB creams to go with trend.
