Product Info and Description
Ingredients
My Opinions
I absolutely love this product!! The packaging is pretty. It's hot pink and awesome... This mascara made my lashes naturally long, but it does not volumize my lashes. No matter how many coats I apply, it will not clump. It is amazing for holding curl, of course, after curling my lashes. Perfect for everyday use. This mascara is easy to remove.

Pros
- Does not smudge
- Does not clumps
- Affordable
- Hold the curl of lashes
- Perfect for those with thin lashes (like me!)
- Visibly lengthens lashes
- The curved brush helps to discover and tint every lash
- Easily to remove with just water
- Overall effect is very natural and light

Cons
- When my lashes are not curled (I have naturally straight), it doesn't hold the curl at all.
- No volumizing properties

Will I repurchase?
Definitely yes!

Product Review: OPI Avoplex Cuticle Oil to Go

Wednesday, August 27, 2014

My cuticles before applying OPI Avoplex Cuticle Oil to Go
I suffer from super-dry and ragged cuticles and fingertips. With all these, it ruins the entire look of my fingers and nails. For me, healthy and manicured cuticles are not just a matter of fashion. Contrary to what some people may think, cuticles are not piles of dead skin that gathers at the base of the nail. They are living parts of the skin that serve an important purpose. Cuticles are attached to the nails and help keep them healthy by protecting them from bacterial and fungal infections. When the cuticle becomes dry, it can't attach to the nail to do its job. This leaves the nail vulnerable to damage and infection.

However, you can care for your cuticles to keep them looking nice. When your nails and cuticles become dry and ragged, this is the time when you need a cuticle oil to moisturize them. This little tube is a lifesaver - OPI Avoplex Cuticle Oil to Go. I love this product and my cuticles need it so much! Whenever my cuticles start to get dry, I will apply it. Ever since I started using this oil, I rarely have dry cuticles. My cuticles are moisturised and my nails look more healthier. Even though it's greasy but it sinks in almost immediately. I love the smell of this oil, too. This tube lasts for a long time as you only need to use it in a very small amount. For those who suffer from dry cuticles, remember to keep one in your handbag or purse as it won't go everywhere if it's in your handbag or purse. It really is convenient for "on the go" just as it claims!

Review: Lucido-L Hair Designing Tube Hair Cream

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

I love having long and curly hair. My hair is permed digitally for many years now. But, the only thing that I don't like about my hair is that it gets frizzy easily when it dries up or after blow-dry and it makes me look so untidy and unmanageable. So I needed something that can treat my hair condition. I also love trying new things that's why I ended up with this product. I've tried many products which is good for my own rating but this one seems to be so good and working really well.

Lucido-L Hair Designing Tube Hair Cream
Swatch
Few weeks ago, I went to Guardian and spent a good one hour there just checking out which products is good for my hair condition and read every single detail of its description. I finally decided to try Lucido-L Hair Designing Tube Hair Cream. This product is affordable and available in most drugstore like Guardian and Watson. I'm sure some of you have heard of Lucido-L. It's a Japanese brand for hair styling. This product contains Panthenol (hair care ingredient) and light fragrance (green floral scent).

My frizzy hair without Lucido-L Hair Designing Tube Hair Cream

After application, my hair looks more manageable
What I like about this product is, it lasted me for the whole day without it looking dried out and my hair was just the way I looked when I walked out of my workplace. There's no sticky feeling and it has a natural glossy finish to it. It smells heavenly sweet and fresh and the curls look so natural and bouncy, too. I think people who have extremely dry and frizzy hair should get this product or at least try it. Will I repurchase this? Yes, absolutely. I will definitely repurchase it.

Manageable and bouncy looking
How to apply?
Spread a suitable amount onto your palm and rub into entire hair or hair ends. I concentrate on the areas where treatment needed and apply them generously at the edge. You can blow dry after that or let it dry naturally. You can also apply it on damp or semi-damp hair.

Have you tried this product?

Metallic Eye Makeup for Dinner

Monday, December 7, 2009

Few weeks ago, a friend of mine asked me to do the makeup for her for a wedding she would be attending. I was really excited and was asked to do her makeup. I called it Metallic eye makeup because I used MAC pigment just to add the shimmer to her eyes. Since she has acne skin, so what I did was I tried to cover it up with the three acne hiding weapons, namely, concealer, foundation and finishing powder with a brush. I tried not to apply too much of foundation, this is to avoid having a caked look to her makeup. I also use tissue paper to even and smooth out the skin to get a better coverage. She looks great in the end.

Here's some shots I took:

Here's What I Used:

Face
MAC Strobe Cream (moisturizer)
MAC Prep+Prime Skin Base Visage (makeup base/primer)
MAC Studio Sculpt SPF15 Foundation
MAC Select Cover-Up (concealer)
MAC Gentle Mineralize Blush (Cheek)
Elianto Marble Baked Blusher (Contouring)
MAC Select Sheer Loose Powder
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Soft and Gentle (bronzer/highligher)

Eyes
MAC Painterly Paint Pot (eyebase/eyeshadow primer)
MAC Eye Kohl Smolder (eyeliner for lower eyelids - smudging)
Kate Super Sharp Liner (eyeliner for upper/lower eyelids)
MAC Pigments - Blue Brown
Coastal Scents 88 Pigment Eyeshadow (Dark Brown Color)
MAC Phloof Eyeshadow (as highlighter)
Maybelline Brow Liner (Brown Color)
False Eyelashes

Lips
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick (Rose Velvet)

Sultry Bell Bottom Blue Eye Makeup

Sultry Blue Black Eye Makeup
Before

Here's another makeup makeover I did to my friend last week. I was so excited and can't wait to share with all my blog readers. I chose blue eyeshadow color - MAC pigment in Bell Bottom Blue just to match her clothing colors and I also mixed with black eyeshadow color to the outer corner of her eyes using my Coastal Scents palette. The purpose is to give shape to the eyes. My friend has a square face shape. So, I decided to contour and highlight her face with bronzer just to bring out her cheek bones, her nose, slim her face and get rid of her double chin. Blending is key in contouring face. The idea is that you can't see where the contouring starts and stops. Instead of using bronzer, darker and lighter blusher/foundation also can be used for this purposes.

Here's a few shots I took After makeup

Sultry Blue Black Eye Makeup
Her eyes really popped!! Okay, here's what I did. I lined the whole top lids with Kate Liquid Eyeliner (liquid eyeliner) and the whole bottom lids with Kate Super Sharp Liner (liquid eyeliner) at first. Then, I applied MAC Eye Kohl Smolder (eye pencil) after that. I dragged the eye pencil gently and lightly from the outer to the middle bottom lids. Then, I smudged the bottom lids (which I lined with eye pencil just now) with a brush, just to get the smokey effect...

Gorgeous Blue Gold Eye Makeup

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Few days ago, I did a makeup makeover on my younger sister and used her as my model. I'm so excited to post it here... My sister has a square face shape. In order to make her face to look smaller, I have to do some contouring on her face just to give the illusion of a perfect face shape. The reason why I called it "Blue Gold Eye Makeup" is because of the MAC Pigments I used - Steel Blue and Old Gold.

Here's some shots I took Before and After makeup.

Kate Mascara Base

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

Kate Mascara BaseI have thin and short straight lashes and hard to curl. And, this is the best product I have found so far that keeps my stubborn lashes lifted and curled throughout the day. This mascara base offers more volume, more length and more curl. I really dragged my feet in trying this product and I'm not sure why. I've tried MAC primer but it doesn't hold the curl and I admit I used to curl my lashes again and again after using mascara.

How do I apply?

Kate Mascara Base1. Curl eyelashes

Kate Mascara Base2. Apply Kate Mascara Base. You know what? You decide the length you want! Now it's time for the trick! Using the end of the mascara base wand, touch just the tips of your top lashes with mascara base. Be sure to get the lashes at the outer corners of your eyes. Let dry for few minutes.

Kate Mascara Base3. Last but not least, apply your favourite mascara as usual to the entire length of your lashes. Can you see the difference now? The results: Long, thick, volume and curl! Your eyes will pop! Don't worry, it can be easily removed.

My Mum's Makeup Before And After

Friday, December 12, 2008

Last week, my mum asked me to do the makeup for her for a wedding she would be attending. I was really excited! It's always been like this every time if there's a dinner function, I was asked to do her makeup. Even my sisters, relatives and sometimes friends, they would call me up to do the makeup for them. Well, for you information, I'm not a professional makeup artist by any means. And, I never worked for a cosmetics counter or makeup artistry school. I'm just a makeup-loving junkie who enjoyed and addicted to makeup. I went through a number of stages as I learn and develop. And, I realized that I'm still in the learning stage and need more and more improvements and practices... :-)

I used whatever makeup cosmetics I had in hand. My mum wanted the smokey green eyes look which went nicely with the dress she was wearing that night. So, I decided to keep her face glow just to make sure the skin is hydrated. My mum has a square face shape. I tried to contour her face and change her face shape just to give the illusion of a perfect, symmetrical face. I contoured her sides of jaw and temples, highlighted her centre of nose, centre of cheeks and chin, and blushed on the sides of her cheekbones. In the end, I think she looked so beautiful!

Here are before and after makeup shots:

Face
- makeup base moisturizer
- MAC Strobe Cream
- Maybelline Clear Smooth Gel Foundation
- powder blush

Eyes
- eyeshadow primer
- MAC eyeshadow pigment (emerald green and old gold)
- MAC smolder eye kohl/blacktrack fluidline
- brow bone highlighter
- MAC Prep + Prime Lash/Zoom Lash mascara

Lip
- Clinique lip gloss in pink crush

My New Favorite - Mascara!

Monday, September 1, 2008

I bought Maybelline Intense XXL Mascara Volume + Length Microfiber Mascara Waterproof a couple of weeks ago but I never really paid attention to it... untill now! In fact, I have been searching for a good mascara for quite some time until I found this one. Well, I love this mascara and it's my new favorite now! When I used it, a friend of mine said that it looked like I was wearing falsies. Yup, it's that good!

Before and After

It is a double-ended tube with 2-step mascara designed to lengthen and volume lashes up to 40%. First step, sweep microfiber basecoat through lashes to visibly lengthen, (but what I do is I dab on the tip of my eyelashes to get an intense length), then followed with microfiber topcoat to lock on intense color and volume. For this one, brush through your eyelashes from base to tip to get an intense volume. I tried using both steps and it ended up with long lashes and fuller, thicker, darker lashes.
